Piedmont-Style Barbecue Sauce

This is a vinegar and tomato in the general style of sauces found in western North Carolina. It can be as sweet or as tart as you like. Personally I prefer somewhere in the middle.

Ingredients

2 c   basic barbecue sauce
2 c   cider vinegar
  white sugar

Procedure

  1. Mix the basic barbecue sauce, the vinegar, and however much sugar you want and bring to a medium simmer.

  2. Taste the mixture frequently, adding sugar if necessary.

  3. Cook until the sugar has dissolved completely.

Notes

This sauce is great on pulled pork!
