Chili Sauce

Why buy yucky stuff from the store when it's so easy to make your own?

Ingredients

1 c   tomato base
2 Tblsp   Salsa Lizano
1 Tblsp   barbecue sauce
1 Tblsp   chipotle hot sauce
1 tsp   soy sauce
1 tsp   chili-garlic paste
1 tsp   sriracha ("rooster") chili sauce

Procedure

  1. Mix everything together.
  2. If using immediately, bring to a simmer then remove from the heat; otherwise, throw it in the fridge overnight to let the flavors blend.

Notes

(need refs for Lizano, rooster, chili-garlic?, El Yucateco, Open Pit?) (need refs to tomato base, sloppy joes)

[Feb '09, used Open Pit, Huy Fong (rooster, c-g paste), chipotle El Yucateco; maybe 2T bbq and 1T Lizano?; try with home-made bbq if available]

Rating

Difficulty: Very easy.

Time: 5 minutes.

Precision: 2.
